At Carean, we believe every child learns differently.
Our classes follow 3 principles:

When a student joins us, we take the time to understand who they are: what they enjoy, where they struggle, and what parents hope to see them improve. From there, our teachers shape the class around each child’s needs.
Our groups are kept very small (maximum five kids) so no one gets lost in the crowd. The teacher has enough time to observe, guide, and support every student, which makes a huge difference in their progress and confidence.
Many of our students come from international schools, and our teachers are familiar with helping children who follow global-style learning. We don’t just sit and lecture. Instead, lessons are interactive, practical, and lively. Kids move, talk, try things out, and learn in ways that feel natural and fun.

Our Star Tutors

Ms. Rylee

Ms. Rylee is the Class Coordinator at our centre and has been teaching English to kids, teens, and adults for 7 years. She is passionate about making learning engaging and enjoyable.

She believes in letting students lead the way based on their interests, creating lessons around what excites them. Lessons often combine hands-on projects and creative activities that help children learn English naturally, like practicing grammar and prepositions while making posters or working on topics they love.

Ms. Rylee is Malaysian-Canadian and brings her unique perspective and love of culture into the classroom. Her classes are full of laughter and curiosity, and she encourages students to make jokes and use playful sarcasm as a fun way to show mastery of English. Her goal is to create a supportive, dynamic, and fun learning environment where every child feels motivated and inspired.

Andrew

Andrew, a Korean educator with 7 years of experience teaching Mathematics to kids and teens, takes a very different approach from traditional drill-heavy methods. While many believe practice alone is the key to improvement, Andrew focuses on building true conceptual understanding.

He constantly asks his students “Why?”—Why does this formula work? Why did you choose that method?—guiding them to understand the origin, logic, and purpose behind each concept. Once a student fully understands the “why,” Andrew believes they no longer need endless repetition; they can solve confidently and independently.

He is also passionate about statistics and data analysis, often bringing real-world numerical examples into his lessons to make math relevant and engaging.

Outside the classroom, Andrew is committed to helping teens grow beyond academics. Several years ago, he founded a football team for Korean and international teens in Johor Bahru, giving them a healthy and active outlet instead of staying home on their phones. He is also a licensed football coach, leading with teamwork, discipline, and fun.
